One more thing off of the jobs list for the boat for February’s race. The Active Indicating System and Active Echo are finally working. This is the gizmo that buggered me up coming back from Bermuda. Now I’ll be able to see all the big ships out there and they will be able to see me! 🙂

The essentials are complete for planning the 1000nm qualifying run in February! If we get three minis to the start line for the SORC Pineapple Cup Fort Lauderdale to Jamaica, then I’ll submit to do the qualifying run back. If we don’t get enough boats, then I’ll submit to do the run from Fort Lauderdale around the Bahamas.
Woohoo!
Wednesday marks the start of route planning for the 800 nautical mile SORC MoBay race and the qualifying run coming back. We’re going to meet with Ron Bianchi our weather coach and plan the route and the conditions! Just over three months to the race!!!!

Went out for a great training day today with Nick. Did some great mucking and also put the storm jib up to work out leads for it. Thanks a million again to for her wonderful support. She put a bunch of hardware onboard today to keep us up to speed and replaced a bunch of blocks and things that have broken over the summer! If you’re in Port Credit, check them out!

GREAT NEWS!
has just agreed to allow a Mini 650 demonstration class for the Pineapple Cup Race. There will be an ammendment to the Notice of Race shortly. The race starts on February 5, 2010 in Fort Lauderdale, then travels through the Bahamas Islands, leaves Cuba to starboard and finishes in Montego Bay Jamaica 800 nautical miles later! It’s a double handed race, and then I will do a single handed run back from Jamaica! Now we just need to get two other boats in the race to get a start!
Happy Friday!!!
