2013 Mini Transat Race

On October 13, 2013….96 racers will scream across the Atlantic Ocean in their 21 foot sailboats…..solo….. Just imageine, thirty days of unforgiveable seas smashing you in the face!  You’re sleep deprived and soaking wet. Then…..you cross the finish line knowing that through it all you have survived, driving your boat harder and faster than anyone else!  This is my race….Live it with me!

Tomorrow Classe Mini will announce the start of the Mini Transat Race.  We’re going to learn the start date, the route, who the new sponsors are and all sorts of great information!  Get ready to mark your calendars!

Cable Jumps The Sheave

This is never a good thing!  During haulout today at ABYC, the cable on the railway jumped the sheave.  With a little effort, a dingy, a couple of pry bars and some adjustable wrenches it all got remedied!

This weekend is haulout at my club ABYC.  250+ boats will be yanked out of their summer moorings and parked in their winter homes on land either by rail, crane and or hydraulic trailer.  It’s a virtual Cirque Du Soleil of vessels flying through the air!

Classe Mini has announced that they have an announcement! The big race is being announced on October 27th! We’ll learn the race date, the route and I’m sure about the sponsors!  We’re bringing a Canadian contingency to the start line with us.  So if you would like to come to France for the start line of the Transat Race and an exciting holiday away, stay tuned.  We’ve teamed up with Marathon Sports Travel to create an exciting adventure for you in France.
